Natural Ways to Lower Cholesterol

For example, niacin can lower bad cholesterol and boost good cholesterol at high prescription doses, but the main side effects include headaches and flushing, along with tingling and itching sensations. Statins help block the cholesterol production in the liver, but the side effects include muscle inflammation, intestinal conditions, and even liver damage. Other possible side effects of statins include type 2 diabetes, high blood sugar, and cognitive problems like confusion and memory loss.
